“For the past 12 years, I have used lightweight tennies or trail sandals while in a rocky-bottomed river. Both types of shoes accumulated pebbles and gravel inside. The tennies wore blisters and took forever to dry. And the sandals came apart in the water. I tried these shoes, to my unimagined delight.
I wore the New Balance 920 shoes in the river for 10 days, without once having to adjust or dump stones or gravel out my shoes. The water drains from them perfectly – no squishing at all. And by morning, they are dry from the previous day’s adventures, so they go on comfortably. The New Balance water shoes have a thick sole that cushions the feet from all those rocks, as well as other dangers in the water. They have a soft lining that will not rub sore spots or blisters. They also provide good arch support. These shoes are very comfortable; I could wear them all day. They exceeded all my expectations.
Since the price has dropped, I am ordering another pair just to have as a backup for the day when my current pair wears out. I don’t want to wear any other shoe in the water ever again.
I usually wear an 8-1/2 shoe (sometimes a 9), and I found a size 9 to be perfect in these water shoes.”

I always only wear New Balance so I was excited to see that they made a water shoe. Many reviews had suggested that I buy a 1/2 size larger than I usually wear. I bought the 7 1/2 rather than a 7. In length the shoes fit however they were too wide and my foot slipped alot (I do have a pretty narrow foot though). The only way to get the shoe not to slip was to tie it as tight as I could which made the mesh pull and pucker which didn’t look good. All and all it would have been a great shoe, just not for my foot. I ended up sending the shoes back and getting the New Balance 820 water shoe, it worked must better for my narrow foot.

I really like these water shoes, just wish they were a little lighter, that’s the reason I didnt give them a 5 star rating. I do water aerobics twice a week and these shoes are great for that. They have good traction and so far are holding up to the chlorine water.

My wife says that they give her great support in the pool. Easy on, easy off!

I like the gutters on the side, it’s a good idea, probably better than holes on the bottom.
I don’t like the insole, it is rough and hard with an uncomfortable texture. i would change it, but it is custom made for the side holes.
